Message From The Minister of Education, Science & Technology

It is my esteemed pleasure to applaud the 121 nominees of the 2018 Bahamas Primary School Student of the Year Awards for your success in being named among, “…the Who’s Who in Primary Schools”. You have embarked very early on the path of greatness. This effort, I am certain, has come with tremendous sacrifice and
commitment. Tonight you are being celebrated and rewarded for the milestones you have achieved.

I commend Mr. Ricardo Deveaux, President, and the Board of Directors of the Bahamas Primary School Student of the Year Foundation along with the Nassau-Bahamas Pan Hellenic Council for collaborating to showcase these young beacons of light from throughout The Commonwealth of The Bahamas. Thank you for
your continued support of these students long beyond this ceremony. It demonstrates your genuine interest in the future of our nation and the young people who are the building blocks of it. On the occasion of your 22nd Anniversary, I congratulate you for the more than two decades of unmitigated success.

Teachers, I thank you for your assiduousness in imparting the necessary knowledge and skills to these
students; empowering them for this current victory. Parents, I also salute you for the part that you have played thus far in your child’s accomplishments. You have prepared them well to advance to the secondary phase of their education.

2018 Awardees, I am proud of your achievements. I encourage you to remain focus and work towards the
higher calling.

The Hon. Jeffrey L. Lloyd, M.P.
